<br>Z4 was restored here and purchased by Richard Hodson in the UK. He has a restoration maintenance company RH Classics.
<br>The car started life with a DKW engine to a Hewland. This was John Gordon's car. The car was raced by Richard a couple of outings after he finished the clean up restoration dropping ion a lotus twin cam.. First outing a rubber donut on the half shaft failed and second outing he shunted the car. Currently being repaired.

<br>Ralph ran the car as built in HMod with a Coventry Climax FWA till around 69.
<br>For the 70 season, he switched to a Ford V-4 (C Sports) and in 71 added a split Hillborn injection setup.
<br>Ralph was killed in the car at Lake Garnett, KS Labor day 1972. The car made its way back to Zink's shop and was rebuilt to Z-8 spec and sold to Larry Anderson Dec 1972.
<br>House fire under current ownership, Z4 body was consumed in the fire, the auto-cross/Z-8 body damaged but repairable. Chassis not badly damaged but for safety a new chassis will be built from salvageable pieces of the original and will be to the Z8 spec (since that's the body we have).

The car has been restored to it’s appearance in 1977. 1977 was the last year for air-cooled Super Vees, before the water-cooled cars were introduced. This car appeared on two magazine covers in 1977 (Formula Magazine and SportsCar). This car was last raced professionally in 1977 by Tom Bagley who went on to race Indy cars. This car won the 1973 SCCA Runoffs, the 1976 Bosch Gold Cup and the 1977 Mini Indy Championships and has 15 Pro Super Vee race wins.<br>

It was converted to Citation bodywork but I plan to convert it back to the Zink bodywork as I have two sets of Z18 bodywork. The car currently is disassembled but I have all of the important parts and it should hit the track in 2025

JohnPaul (JP) Ciancimino never put it on the track. <br>Gary Slahor purchased the car from JP in February 2014, and it spent a year undergoing a complete restoration and upgrades by Eric Langbein, including frame modifications to latest spec, a new floor pan and special engine cages designed by Steve Lathrop. It has been campaigned as an FB (F1000) since 2015 with Kawasaki ZX10R power.
